The Journey to Find Purpose

Growing tired of the cycle of unsuccessful diets, I resolved to approach weight loss in a healthier and more balanced manner. I was determined to prove to myself that I could achieve my goals through perseverance and dedication, regardless of the time it took. Setting a clear objective to compete in a bikini competition by September infused my journey with purpose and accountability.

 I signed up for the  16th of September competition  on the 2nd February 2017 and  as soon as i got in the mail with the  confirmation , i put those on my fridge to  remind me what i was working for.  Additionally, i wrote down my goal and what i was expecting to achieve by when, the exact date. I displayed on the fridge even,, my current progress’’ June 2017 to motivate me to go further.  Wrote down my favourite quote by Mike Dooley, ‘’Thoughts become things''  and daily i would read it out loud and visualized myself on the stage,

 From Weight Loss Transformation to Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach

As I reflect on the transformative journey that led me to shed 17 kilograms over 9 months (this was in 2017), I'm reminded of a pivotal moment in January 2017 when I stepped on the scale and faced the reality of my heaviest weight at 80 kilograms. It was then that I made a resolute decision to embark on a journey towards a healthier version of myself, one that prioritized sustainability and well-being.

 

 

 

 

While my resolve was unwavering, the journey was not without its challenges. Despite facing scepticism and ridicule from some, including supposed friends who doubted my aspirations, I found unwavering support from my husband, sister, and best friend. Their belief in me fuelled my determination to defy expectations and pursue my goals with unwavering commitment. 

       I began my journey by prioritizing sustainable and healthy habits, focusing on nourishing my body rather than resorting to drastic measures. Understanding that lasting change required patience and consistency, I committed to gradual progress, aiming for achievable milestones along the way.

  Enrolling in a gym and commencing a training regimen three times a week marked the beginning (more specific the first 6 months) of my transformation journey 

    Though progress was initially slow, I was losing only 1kg each month, i still remained steadfast in my belief in myself and my ability to achieve my goals. Despite facing discouragement and doubt from others, I persevered, trusting in my own strength and resilience to overcome obstacles along the way.

        I started to search for help ( June 2017, had only  3 months left until competition and  i have lost only 6kg )  then is when I met Dave (Personal Trainer) who guided me for the rest of my journey. With his knowledge and expertise, I was now able to lose 1kg a week, leading me to achieve my goal in the determined time.

 As weeks turned into months, I witnessed tangible progress, both physically and mentally. With each kg lost and every milestone achieved, I gained newfound confidence and self-assurance, reaffirming my belief in the transformative power of perseverance and self-belief.

           While the journey was not without its setbacks, including moments of self-doubt and external criticism, I refused to let 

negativity derail my progress. Instead, I used adversity as fuel to propel me forward, emerging stronger and more resilient with each obstacle overcome.

In sharing my journey, I've come to realize that the greatest transformations often stem from within. My path to shedding 17 kilograms over 9 months was not merely a physical journey but a testament to the power of self-belief, resilience, and unwavering determination.

             As I stand here today, profoundly transformed both physically and emotionally, I am filled with a sense of purpose and gratitude for the journey that brought me to this moment. It's not just about the weight lost, but about the invaluable lessons learned along the way – lessons of self-love, perseverance, and the unwavering belief in oneself.

             Driven by the profound impact of my own transformation, I've made a decision to pay it forward by becoming a personal trainer and nutrition coach. My goal is simple yet profound: to empower and inspire others who find themselves in similar situations, guiding them towards a path of health, happiness, and self-discovery.

              Through my own journey, I've come to understand that true transformation is not merely about changing one's external appearance, but about cultivating a mindset of self-love, resilience, and unwavering belief in one's potential. It's about recognizing that with dedication, perseverance, and self-belief, anything is possible.

             As I embark on this new chapter, I do so with a deep sense of purpose and gratitude for the journey that brought me here. My hope is that by sharing my story and offering support and guidance to others, I can play a small yet meaningful role in helping them realize their own potential and embark on their own journey towards health, happiness, and self-empowerment.
